Yudofu and Yuba Meal @ Junsei, Kyoto

I watch a lot of anime as you may know now. Recently, I watched Bungou Stray Dogs and a character there asked for yudofu when asked what she wanted to eat. Again, out of curiosity, this was something that Melbourne does not have, so I definitely have to try this one out. Luckily, Kyoto is particularly popular for their vegetarian cuisine and tofu is almost always on the menu.

Junsei is a very popular spot on the way out from Kiyomizu-dera temple and it is always packed. Mom had to ask for directions from one of the shaved ice shops at the temple and we found our way here. We had to wait for around 20-30 minutes for a table.

BBQ style tofu with miso on top! Delish!

Yuba Set Meal with all the yummy things!

You then scoop it out, dip it in soy sauce and viola!

Another shot of the tofu sashimi. I love this one. Very fresh and nice when it is cold.

Yuba or otherwise known as boiled tofu. Hearty and refreshing.
I thought this had to be more silky or creamy but not really.
