For our first dinner tonight, Mom and I each had a small bowl of their unagi don. We actually wanted to share 1 set meal then add another ala carte order of the eel, but the lady said it's not allowed.
Anyway, I thought this was still good. Mom was not too interested in the eel. The eel was really soft and melts in your mouth. It had a slight smokiness as well that I like. What weirded me out was the miso soup. They used the innards of the eel so the soup tasted slightly bitter. It was still an enjoyable meal.
