My US Trip 2015: Las Vegas

So this is Vegas. It's a city that draws a lot of people from all over the world. Honestly, it does have its charm but it's not my kind of city. But you know what I love about it? Vegas takes things all the way and I do mean literally. If you want it big and and luxurious, go to Vegas. If you like to live like a king for a day, Vegas is your go-to city. You like the nightlife? Vegas is it.

One thing I also like about Vegas was the nightlights. Even though it was crazy hot outside, I enjoyed walking along the strip, even just for a few hours. One weird experience I had was the moment I stepped out of our hotel, The Venetian, I told my auntie that I had to go back because I wasn't feeling too well. I think I was too overwhelmed with the lights and it was just too "in-your-face". I just wasn't prepared for it. After a few minutes, we walked out again then I started to take it all in. It was too damn crowded for a Friday night. People seemed like they were high on something - alcohol, mostly. The women were always drunk and the men were always, well, on the lookout for something interesting. In the end, everyone was out for some fun here in Vegas.

The highlight of my trip was definitely the Cirque du Soleil "O" show. They had synchronized swimming and diving - yes, they had a pool setup on stage. All the dancers and acrobats were dressed in crazy tight outfits and were very shiny and colorful. I'm not really a fan of circus shows but this one was over the top and I still enjoyed it. The music was also amazing. They had a live band and a soprano singer who sang what sounded like Italian opera while the dancers spiraled along with the music.

I also enjoyed our stay at The Venetian. It was opulent and romantic. Everything there was shiny and seemed to be covered in gold with classic paintings everywhere. I was actually comparing this to The Venetian in Macau and this hotel in Vegas was just bigger and better. The only thing I had to complain about was that it was quite a walk to get from our hotel room to the lobby and you can get lost easily without a map. Heck, I think they should give you a GPS to guide you through the hotel! Truth is, I also love the painted ceilings and all the "marble" looking statues.

Another hotel lobby that I liked was The Bellagio. There was also an Under the Sea exhibit there that was quite nice and well arranged. The only problem was - yep - it was so crowded. We could hardly walk out from the area.

There were a lot of interesting things to see along the Vegas strip. From hotel lobbies to shops and walkways and of course, the casinos. If you're out for a good time and you like to feel as if you're living the high life, this is the city to go to.
