Buffet Hot Pot Madness @ Four Seasons Hot Pot City, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City

I haven't been to a buffet in a long, long time. I always notice that people turn into savage beasts when they are at a buffet. Considering the money they have to pay for a buffet meal, they will always go for the expensive stuff, most of the time, eating more than their share and then leave a lot of food on their plates. I found places like these very wasteful. But today, I'll make an exception. Aside from all that, I really enjoyed my hot pot buffet experience. The buffet spread at the Four Seasons was quite extensive - everything you would like in a hot pot meal.

My top 3 favorites at the buffet are: the beef slices, the fresh fish and meat balls and the seafood (clams and snapper).

Here are the 12 things you have to remember before you come to Four Seasons:

1. Book a week in advance, if you can. If you can't, see #2
2. Come as early as 9am and take a walk-in ticket. Ideally, you should be in the top 5 of the walk-in queue.
3. Most of the seats at Four Seasons are close to the buffet tables, so you have nothing to worry about in terms of proximity.
4. They have signs at the top of each buffet table, so you won't lose your way
5. Remember your table number - trust me, you will need it.
6. Go for the meat and veggies - the beef strip slices for me are the best, next is the pork belly. Be sure to head over the meat section first and place your order. Orders are per tray.
7. After ordering your meat, get to the sauce station and mix up for hot pot sauce. If you don't, you'll be sorry.
8. Head over to the sashimi and Japanese (tempura) section. If you don't, well, you know...
9. They have a really nice dessert section. I loved the bibingka, which I thought was at par with Via Mare/Manila Hotel.
10. Don't forget to get drinks - they have unlimited beer, at least 8 types of drinks, 2 coffee vending machines and different types of tea.
11. Remember not to rush while cooking your hot pot, take your time as there is no time limit unlike other Viking buffets.
12. If something runs out, you can always ask for more and they will deliver to your table.
