Udon and tempura together is your usual combination in many Japanese places so what makes this one special? For me, it's the advertised speedy service. To be honest, the service was quite quick for your average sit-in Japanese place in the city. The process was to take a tray, order your meal (which is a number), walk down a few steps and viola! you should get your noodle order. Then take a place and choose your tempura of choice, buffet style. The price is not buffet, though. It's priced per piece (AUD 1.20). It adds up depending on what and how much you can eat. Pay for your order at the end. Overall, you can probably eat well for $9-12.
So what about the taste? I can't fault the udon and I like the beef curry sauce as well. Was it spectacular? It was nothing mind-blowing but more of "I need to fill my tummy up because it's lunch time" sort of deal. The tempura was also not bad, not oily but of course, it's not fresh out of the fryer.
