I've made a lot of pasta sauces and one of my favorites is olive-oil based. I sometimes like the distinct taste of olive oil or butter simply mixed with fried garlic and dried chilli flakes.
I think pasta is a very mood-based dish and extremely versatile. I know some people would prefer the authentic Italian flavours but why not put curry or satay or....chilli bean paste in this case?
I pan-fried some chicken tenders in butter while boiling fusilli in a separate pot. When fusilli is done, mix the pasta into the pan with butter. I put a teaspoon (or 2) of the Chinese chilli bean paste. Last touch was peas.
It's not the best thing in the world but it's edible.
